Mahadev Marbles Sanitary Stores

Mahadev Marbles Sanitary Stores is over at Arya Nagar 542, in the Vatne Nagar area. We are quite close to Sant Merry School, so we often hear the kids playing or the school bells during the day. Our shop is a mix of different things. We have stacks of floor tiles in various patterns and a section for sanitary ware like toilets, sinks, and taps. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the space. When a delivery truck arrives, the whole sidewalk gets blocked for a bit while we carry the boxes in. I’ve been running this place with my brother, and we know just about every plumber in the neighborhood. They come in early to get their supplies before heading to their jobs. The shop stays relatively cool because of all the stone inside, which is a relief when it's hot outside. We don't have a computer system for everything; we still write down most of our sales in a big ledger book. Sometimes a customer wants a specific shade of tile we don't have, so we have to call around to find it. It’s a lot of talking and moving heavy boxes. We don't do any big marketing; we just rely on the people living nearby who are fixing up their homes. It’s a steady business and we like being part of the local street.
