Neeraj Masala

You can find us right near the Allahabad Bank. It is a good landmark because everyone in the area knows exactly where the bank is. We have been operating out of this spot for a while now. Dealing with masala means there is always a bit of dust in the air and a strong aroma that follows you around. We are just a small group of people working together. It is not a corporate setup with meetings and powerpoints. Usually, we are just standing around the machines or packing stuff into bags by hand. It gets loud when the grinders are running, so we end up shouting a bit to hear each other. We take pride in what we do, but we do not feel the need to shout about it from the rooftops. People find us because they like what we make. The shop is a bit cramped, especially when we have a big shipment going out, but we make it work somehow. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it is quiet just to get some fresh air. The bank brings a lot of people by our door, which is nice for us. We see a lot of familiar faces every week. It is a simple life, honestly. We show up, we grind the spices, we pack them, and we go home. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We do not have a website, just this physical space where the work happens.
