Narayan Masale

We are located at Plot No-5/1161 in Vasundhara. It’s part of the Mohan Meakin Society, not far from Buddha Chowk. The area is quite residential, so we have to be careful about the noise we make during the afternoon. Narayan Masale is a small operation. We have a couple of grinders and a big wooden table for packing everything. The smell of spices is really strong in such a small space. We get a lot of people from the society coming in to see what we’re grinding that day. Sometimes it's coriander, sometimes it's those really hot chillies that make everyone’s eyes water. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Most people just find us because they live nearby or they hear the hum of the machines through the windows. It’s a bit cramped in here with all the sacks of raw spices sitting on the floor. We try to keep things tidy, but it's hard when you're busy with orders. The light in the back room flickers sometimes, and we just use a torch if we need to find something in the corner. It’s just a normal, everyday business. We aren't trying to change the world or do anything fancy. We just want to provide something useful to the folks around Buddha Chowk and make sure the bills are paid at the end of the month.
