Agarahunda Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Agarhunda Mau, over in the Banda area near Chitrakoot. We run things from Kamta Prasad’s house. It is a rural spot and we are all farmers by trade. We came together to form this company so we could have a bit more say in how our produce is handled. It is tough farming in this region sometimes because the ground can be very stubborn. We spend our mornings and evenings working the fields. This company is a way for us to stay organized. We talk about fertilizers, water, and where to sell the crops. It isn't a high-tech operation at all. It is just us using our hands and our experience. We have known Kamta and his family for a long time. It is all very local. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy offices. Every bit of what we have goes back into the land. We just want to keep doing what our fathers did, but maybe a little smarter by working together. You won't find any corporate talk here. We just tell it like it is. Some days are good and some are a struggle. We just keep moving forward with the work. That is the life of a farmer in Uttar Pradesh. We take it one day at a time and hope for the rain to come.
