You can find us right on DPS Road in Yamunapuram. We’re pretty close to MMR Mall, which makes it easy to explain to people who don’t know the area well. This shop has been around for a bit. We focus on masalas, mainly because that’s what everyone around here needs for their kitchens. It gets pretty busy on the weekends when people are out shopping. We don’t have a massive team, just a few of us who know the blends. We spend a lot of time grinding and mixing things in the back room. The noise from the machines can be a bit loud sometimes, but that’s the sound of work getting done. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. People usually find us because they heard about us from a neighbor or they saw the sign while heading to the mall. We try to keep the floor clean, though it’s hard with all the fine powder floating around. It’s a straightforward business. We buy the raw ingredients and turn them into something people can actually use in their cooking. Some days the humidity makes the spices clump up, so we have to be careful about that. We just do our best to keep things moving. There is always another batch to get ready before we close for the evening. It keeps us on our toes throughout the day and makes the time go fast.
