Ubn Agro Kisan Producer Company Limited

Chhedi Singh’s house in Tola Bansdih is where we run things from. It’s right here in Ballia, and most of us have lived in this village our whole lives. We started this kisan producer company because it made sense to work together. Farming alone is tough, but as a group, we can share the load and help each other out. Our address is house number one, so it’s easy enough to find for anyone who lives around here. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the usual village house. Most days you’ll find a few of us sitting there talking about seed prices or the state of the local market. We handle the business for a lot of the farmers in this part of Ballia. It involves a lot of record-keeping which can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We aren't experts in business, just farmers who learned how to manage a company over time. We try to keep things straight and honest. The crops vary from year to year, so we have to be ready for anything that the weather throws at us. It’s a lot of work during the harvest, and we spend long days making sure everything is accounted for. We aren't looking to become famous. We just want to make sure the people in Tola Bansdih have a way to sell what they grow. It’s a quiet life mostly, just focused on the land.
