Swarn Kisaan Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is the Swarn Kisaan Farmer Producer Company Limited, and you can find us in Sinduriya village. That is in the Mithaura area of Maharajganj. We operate out of Umashanker Singh’s house. It is a simple setup because we spend most of our time in the fields anyway. Maharajganj is a place where almost everyone is connected to the land in some way. We got this company registered so we could have a bit more say in how our produce is handled. It is mostly just a group of us from around Sinduriya working together. We do not have a website or a big staff of experts. If you need something, you just walk up to the door and ask for whoever is around. There is always someone working on a ledger or talking on the phone with a supplier. The work is hard and the sun can be really hot in the middle of the day, but we are used to it. We deal with all sorts of local crops. The main thing is just making sure the members get what they need, like fertilizer or good seeds, without having to travel too far from home. We have had some ups and downs with the weather lately, which makes the work even more stressful, but that is just farming. We are not doing this for any big awards or fame. We just want to keep the village economy moving. It is a practical way for us to survive and maybe grow a little bit more.
