Suryasewa Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Kabirganj Kasawachhibramau. We operate from Kelavati’s place. It’s where we meet up to discuss what we are planting and how the crops are looking. We are all farmers here. Nobody wears a suit to work. We’re usually covered in dust or mud depending on the month. The idea was just to have a collective so we aren't at the mercy of every middleman who comes by. It's a lot of paperwork, which we don't always enjoy, but it helps us stay organized. Kabirganj is a quiet place and we like it that way. We grow what we can and try to help each other out with equipment or advice when someone’s crop is struggling. It’s not a big corporate office with computers everywhere. It’s more of a community thing. Kelavati helps keep the records straight at the house. We have our meetings there and drink tea while we look at the numbers. It’s a simple life, mostly focused on the seasons and the rain. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just have our names and our reputation in the village. Sometimes the harvest is great and sometimes it’s lean. We just keep going because that is what we know. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so this company is just the next step for us to stay afloat.
