We are based in the village of Tendiya Dharampur in Bahraich. Shivangh Agro Farmer Producer Companylimited is run out of Akshay Kumar Singh’s home. Bahraich is the kind of place where you really have to understand the land if you want to get a good harvest. We are just a group of local farmers who decided we could do a lot more if we pooled our resources instead of everyone struggling on their own. It’s not a fancy operation at all. We meet up and talk about which crops are doing well and try to help anyone who is having a tough season. Sometimes the floods come and ruin everything, and other times it is so dry the ground cracks, but we just keep pushing forward. We don’t have a corporate office or big computers. Most of our planning happens under a big tree or in a small room at Akshay’s house. We are just regular folks trying to make sure we can sell what we grow without getting a bad deal. It takes a lot of patience to manage a company like this while we are also busy working our own fields. We aren't trying to be famous or change the whole world; we are just trying to make life a little bit easier for the farmers here in Bahraich. It’s honest work and it’s the only life we know. We take it one day at a time and hope for rain.
