We started Samverdhan Sumangal Farmers Producer Company Limited a while back. It's basically a bunch of us from around here coming together. Barkha Singh lets us use the space at 2 Shastri Nagar for the office stuff. Mostly, we spend our time out in the fields or dealing with the harvest. It isn't a fancy setup. We just needed a way to organize things better so we could get our crops to market without so much trouble. Farming is hard work, especially when you're trying to do it all on your own. By forming this company, we share the load a bit. Some days are good, some are really tough when the weather doesn't cooperate. We aren't big city businessmen. We are just local people trying to make a living from the land. You can usually find someone around the Shastri Nagar address if you need to talk about seeds or what's growing this season. We don't have a big staff or a receptionist. It's just us. We keep the books there and try to keep things moving. It feels better working as a group rather than just one family struggling. We've lived here a long time and know the soil well. It’s a practical way to handle the farming business. There’s always something to do, whether it’s fixing a tool or figuring out the transport for the grain. We just take it day by day and try to keep things simple.
