SAI Dharam Kanta

SAI Dharam Kanta is located out in Roza Jalalpur, over in the Noida Extension area. We have a large scale here for weighing trucks and heavy vehicles. It is a pretty dusty spot because of all the construction nearby. Trucks come in and out all through the day and sometimes late into the night. We check the weight and then we give the driver a slip. It is a simple job but it has to be done correctly every time. Gautam Budh Nagar is growing so fast lately, so there are always more trucks on the road. We sit in a small cabin most of the time to stay out of the sun. The sun really beats down on the concrete out here. We have an old fan that makes a lot of noise. Sometimes the drivers are in a big hurry and they get a little bit grumpy with us. We just do our job and don't worry about it. It is not the kind of place you go for a holiday. It is just a place for work. The scale is old but we make sure it stays calibrated. We see all kinds of different loads passing through—sand, bricks, and heavy steel beams. It all comes through SAI Dharam Kanta at some point. We have seen the roads around Roza Jalalpur change quite a lot over the years. More buildings are going up every single month. We just stay here and weigh whatever comes our way.
