A One Nursery

Our nursery is located along Dadri Road in the Sector 49 Bhangel area. If you’re driving past, you’ll see rows and rows of green plants and clay pots sitting out in the sun. It’s a lot of work keeping everything watered, especially when the heat in Noida gets really bad in June. My boots are almost always muddy because I’m either mixing soil or moving plants from one spot to another. We have all sorts of things, from small flowering bushes to bigger trees that people put in their yards. It’s not a polished garden center like you see in magazines; it’s more of a working yard where things grow. Sometimes the bugs get to the leaves, and we have to spend the whole morning cleaning them off. People stop their cars and walk through the aisles, asking what will grow in their balcony or how often they should water a money plant. I try to tell them what I know from my years of working with dirt and seeds. We have bags of manure and piles of river sand stacked near the entrance. It’s a quiet place compared to the noisy road outside. I like the smell of wet earth after we’ve done the morning watering. It’s a simple business, just selling plants and helping people add a bit of green to their homes. Most of our day is just quiet work with the soil.
