Ritvika Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Saraiyabaldev Singh, which is a small spot near Biswan in Sitapur. We operate from the house of Umesh Singh. It is a busy place, especially during the sowing season when everyone is coming by to check on the seed stocks. Sitapur is known for its agriculture, but doing everything alone was getting too expensive for the smaller farmers. We thought if we formed this company, we could buy things together and maybe have more say when it comes to selling. We don't have any fancy posters or a big sign, just a sense of purpose. Most mornings, you can hear the tractors idling nearby. We try to keep our records clear, though sometimes it takes a while to get everything written down after a long day in the sun. Umesh helps keep things organized. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to make sure that the people growing the food are actually the ones making a bit of profit. The roads around here can be tough after a storm, but we still manage to get together and talk shop. It’s a practical way of living. We focus on the crops and the people we have known our whole lives. There is plenty of work to go around, and doing it as a group just makes more sense for everyone involved in the village.
