Pakkhi Javik Kisan Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Guthawali Teekri, over in Bulandshahr. The "Javik" part of our name means we are trying to do things more naturally, without all the heavy chemicals that have been used lately. It’s not easy to switch back to the old ways, but a group of us here decided it was worth a shot. We are just regular farmers who live and work in this district. Our office is just a spot in the village where we gather to talk. We don't have fancy brochures or a website. Most of what we do is just talking to each other across the fence or at the tea stall. Farming in Bulandshahr has its ups and downs. Sometimes the market is good, and sometimes you can't even cover your costs. By forming this producer company, we are trying to find better ways to sell our organic stuff. It takes a lot of patience to grow things this way. We spend a lot of time weeding and checking the soil. We are just trying to do right by the land and our families. It’s a lot of trial and error for us.
