Oxigro Farmer Producer Company Limited is a local group we started right here in Ghaluya. Amendra Singh, who is Kishan Singh’s son, is the one who handles a lot of the coordination from his place. We are in the 262001 area code, if you are looking for us on a map. It is a straightforward operation. We are all farmers who realized that we could get better prices and better seeds if we worked as one unit instead of fighting for ourselves. The village life is quiet, but the work is heavy. We don't have a fancy office with a receptionist. Usually, if you want to talk to us, you just walk up to the house and see if Amendra is around. We spend our days out in the dirt, checking on how things are growing and worrying about the rain. It’s a practical way to live. We have our meetings under a tree or on the porch, and we don't bother with suits or ties. Everything we do is about the soil and the plants. Some years are better than others, and sometimes we have to scrape by, but being a producer company helps us stay afloat. We aren't interested in being a big name, we just want our families to be okay. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes to get all the paperwork right for the government, but we help each other out.
