Over in Sant Kabir Nagar, specifically in Oniya, Ali Nagar, we started Onvilai Farmer Producer Company Limited. It is located at Sarvesh Upadhyay’s place. Dhanghata is a nice area, but like any farming region, it has its share of hard times. We are a small group of people who know the soil here better than anything else. We decided that forming this company was the best way to help each other out. Dealing with all the different aspects of farming like getting the right supplies and finding buyers is easier when you aren't doing it alone. Sarvesh handles a lot of the coordination from the office in Oniya. It’s a lot of work to keep everyone on the same page, but we manage somehow. We aren't some big corporate entity from the city. We are just neighbors who work the land and want to see our families do well. Most of our day is spent out in the open, and the office is just where we go to finish the paperwork or have a quick meeting. We don't have any fancy slogans or anything. We just focus on the crops and making sure things are moving as they should. It’s a basic life but a good one, and being part of this group makes it a bit more stable for everyone involved in Sant Kabir Nagar. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
