Navpravartan Farmer Producer Company Limited

It’s mostly quiet here in Jamundhana, and our little group, Navpravartan Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based right out of Shankar Singh’s place. We are just a bunch of people from around here who spend most of our time in the fields. Farming isn't an easy life, especially when the weather doesn't go your way, but we figured it was better to work together than to try and handle everything on our own. Most days you’ll find us talking about seeds or how the crops are coming along. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a room with some chairs where we meet up to figure out things like transport or getting supplies. It’s practical work. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much, but that’s just how it goes these days. We know the land here because we’ve lived on it our whole lives. When we started this, we just wanted a way to make sure everyone got a fair shake when selling what they grew. It's a local thing, through and through. Everyone knows everyone else, so there's no need for any big speeches or corporate talk. We just focus on the harvest and hope the monsoon is kind to us this year. There is always a lot to do, from fixing tools to checking the soil after a big rain. We’re just regular folks trying to get by and keep the farms going well.
