Mankhera Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated in Nagla Sewla Mankhera, which is on the outskirts of Agra. We are based at Balbir Singh’s place. Most of us here have spent our entire lives in these fields, so we know the local conditions better than anyone. We decided to form this company to give the local farmers a bit more leverage when it comes to buying supplies and selling what we grow. It’s a very grounded operation. We don't have a big office staff or anything like that. It’s usually just a few of us sitting down after a long day of work to go over the numbers. Agra 282001 is where we are, but the heart of the business is in the village of Mankhera. We deal with the day-to-day realities of farming—bugs, bad weather, and shifting prices. We try to help each other out by sharing resources and knowledge. It’s not always pretty, and sometimes we disagree on how to do things, but we’re all working toward the same goal. We just want the farms in Nagla Sewla to be productive. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We are just a group of neighbors who figured out that working together is better than trying to do everything alone. It’s a practical, local effort that stays focused on the land and the people who work it. We keep our doors open to anyone who wants to talk farming.
