Madihan Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Hardi Khudra in the Phuliyari area of Mirzapur. Being out here means you learn to live with the seasons and the rain. We are a group of people from the local villages who decided to put our names together on some papers. It helps us deal with the buying and selling without getting lost in the shuffle. Mirzapur has its own rhythm, and we are part of it. The place in Hardi Khudra is where we meet up to figure out our next steps. It is not a corporate building by any means. Usually, there is a tractor parked nearby or some bags of grain waiting to be moved. We handle things like any other neighbor would, with a lot of talk and a bit of tea. The name Madihan comes from our local roots. We aren't trying to be bigger than we are. Most days are spent looking at the sky and checking the ground. It is hard work, but when you do it together, the burden feels a bit lighter. We know the land here because our fathers worked it too. There isn't any secret to what we do, just putting in the hours and hoping the crop stays healthy. That’s about all there is to us. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure everyone in the group gets their work done and their crops sold.
