If you are ever in Chitrakoot, you might find us near Shank Bazar. Kamadgiri Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Dev Kanya Tripathi’s place on Ganga Road. It’s a busy area with a lot of people coming and going, especially with all the pilgrims visiting the holy sites. But behind all that, there are a lot of us who are just focused on the land. We are a producer company, which basically means we are a group of farmers trying to help ourselves. Farming in Chitrakoot has its own set of challenges, and we thought it would be better to face them together than alone. We don't have a reception desk or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. It’s just Dev Kanya and some of the rest of us handling things between our regular work. We deal with whatever crops are in season and try to find the best way to get them to the market. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic, and our meetings can go on for a long time while we argue about the best way to do things. But that’s how it goes when you have a lot of people who really care about their work. We are just locals trying to keep our community going, making sure the farmers on Ganga Road and around Shank Bazar get a fair shake at things without any fancy talk or pretension.
