Jai Guniya Dada Farmer Producer Company Limited is run from village Survari in Kosi Kalan. Kusum, who is Bharat Singh’s wife, handles a lot of the ground work there at the house. It is a real rural spot. Life moves a bit differently out here compared to how it is in the city. We are mostly focused on the farming community that lives right around Survari. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails most of the time. It is just the way it is when you work with the land. We don't have a big shiny office building with a sign. The work happens right in the village, near the houses and the fields where the crops are. People stop by Kusum's place to talk about what they are planting this year or if they need help with the collective. We try to keep things simple. There is no point in making things complicated for no reason. Kosi Kalan is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We share tools and advice whenever we can. Sometimes we sit under the trees to discuss the market prices or the seeds we bought. It isn't always easy, and some years are much tougher than others when the water is low. We are just a group of people from the village trying to organize ourselves a bit better. We don't have a marketing team. It is just us, the land, and the work we do every day to get by.
