Our small group is based in Moh Adarsh Nagar in Garhmukteshwar. Garh Agro Producer Company Limited is something we started because we realized that as individual farmers, we were getting ignored too often. Now, we use our collective voice to get better deals and share resources whenever we can. It’s a very local operation. You won't find any fancy logos or corporate slogans here. We are just people from the neighborhood who know what it’s like to work the soil year after year. We meet up to discuss things like seed quality and how to get our produce to the market without it costing us a fortune in transport. It’s not always easy to get everyone on the same page, and sometimes our meetings go on much longer than they should because people have a lot to say. But it’s worth it because we’re looking out for each other. We deal with the everyday stuff that comes with farming in this part of the country. It’s about keeping our community strong and making sure the small-scale farmer has a fighting chance against bigger interests. We don't have big ambitions of taking over the world or anything like that. We just want to do right by our families and our town. It’s just us, working hard and keeping it real. We try to keep the books straight but we are farmers first.
