Anjanya Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right here in Salempur. Our main spot is over at Babban Singh’s house, number one in Isari. We are basically just a gathering of local farmers from the area. Farming is getting tougher these days with the cost of everything going up so fast. We decided it was better to work together than to keep struggling on our own all the time. We deal with grains mostly, depending on what the season allows us to grow. Our office is just a simple room where we keep some records and meet up to chat about the fields. It gets quite dusty when the wind picks up or when the tractors go by outside. We do not have any big signs or anything. If you are looking for us, just ask someone in Isari and they will point you the right way. We worry a lot about the monsoon because it is so unpredictable now. Last year was pretty dry, so we are all hoping for more rain this time around to help the crops. We give each other advice on what seeds to buy and which ones are just a waste of money. It is simple, physical work that takes up all our time and energy. We don’t have fancy meetings with people in suits. We just sit on the porch and figure out the next steps for the harvest. Salempur is a quiet place and we just want to keep things running.
