Amritbadii Kisan Producer Company Limited is situated in Nagla, right in the Nawabganj area of Farrukhabad. We use Narayan Dev’s place as our main point of contact for everything we do. Farrukhabad is well known for its potatoes, and that is a big part of what we do here. We have a lot of farmers who came together to form this company so we could have a better chance in the market. The office is pretty basic, just a desk and some cupboards full of files. We do not have air conditioning or fancy furniture. Most of the time, the room is full of the smell of earth and sacks. We spend our mornings out in the fields seeing how the plants are doing and our afternoons dealing with the paperwork. It is a lot of work to keep track of everything, but it is better than working alone. People from all over Nawabganj come to us to talk about their yields or if they need help with some new farming method. We are not experts with big degrees; we just know what works for our soil and what does not. Sometimes we have disagreements about how to do things, but we always figure it out. It is a real community effort. We just want to make sure that the people who grow the food are the ones who actually benefit from it. That is why we keep this thing going.
