Aakib Javed Farmer Producer Company Limited is run right from Dubaulipalipa. It is a local operation where Akib Javed handles the main coordination. We started this because the farmers in our area needed a better way to get their goods to market without too many middle steps. It is a small setup, mostly just a few of us working out of a home office and spending the rest of the time out where the actual planting happens. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment in the office, but we have what we need for the farming side. Life in Dubaulipalipa moves at a steady pace and we try to keep up with the seasonal changes. When harvest time comes, things get very busy around here and you won't find anyone sitting still. We talk to each other about what is growing well and what isn't. It’s a very hands-on type of business. We don't have a big website or a call center. If you need us, you usually just come by and talk to Akib or one of the others. We try to keep things honest and simple. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much, but we manage. It’s just a group of people trying to make a living off the land while looking out for one another in the community. We use simple tools and work hard to make sure the crops are looked after properly throughout the year and every season.
