Utkal Iron & Steel Trunk Works

Our shop, Utkal Iron & Steel Trunk Works, is right in the middle of Giri Market. If you know the Ganjam area, you know how busy the Main Road gets. We are sitting right opposite Abhishek Kalyan Mandal, which usually has something going on. Being near Big Bazaar and Hotel London International means there’s always a crowd walking by. We’ve been making trunks and working with iron and steel here for a long time. It’s noisy and dusty work, but it’s what we do. The shop isn't much to look at, just a place filled with metal sheets and tools. We don't have a sales team or a fancy website. Usually, it's just us out front or in the back hammering away. People stop by because they need something sturdy that lasts. We don't do much talking; we just show them what we've built. The heat in the summer can be tough in a place like this, but we keep the fans going and stay at it. It’s a local business through and through. We know the other shop owners around here, and we’ve seen the market grow busier every year. Sometimes finding parking near us is a nightmare, so most people just walk over from the hotel or the bazaar. We just keep the doors open and stick to the metalwork we've always done. It’s a living, and it’s what our family has known for years now.
