Salandi Farmers Producer Company Limited operates out of the Bidyadharpur area. Premananda Mishra is the person who helps us manage the space in Ambagadia. We’re a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It makes things a bit easier when you need to buy supplies or find a way to get the harvest to where it needs to go. We spend most of our mornings out on the land, checking on how things are growing. Then, in the afternoons, some of us might meet up to talk about the business side of the company. It’s a bit of a juggle, trying to be both farmers and business owners at the same time. We don't always get it right, and there are plenty of mistakes along the way, but we learn as we go. The office is pretty basic, just a desk and some chairs and a lot of folders. We don't have time for anything flashy because there’s always another task waiting for us. Whether it’s fixing a fence or dealing with a late shipment, we just handle it. We’re just regular people from around here trying to make a living and help our neighbors do the same. It’s not always pretty, but it’s what we do. We care about the soil and the crops because that's our life. We talk about the weather more than anything else. It’s just a group of us trying to make farming work in a modern world without losing our roots and our connection to the land.
