We run Sabar Srikhetra Jaivik Krishak Samuhproducer Company Limited from Gopabandhu Nagar. It’s mostly Satyajit Prusty and a handful of local farmers who wanted to do things a bit differently. We focus on organic stuff, which means more work in the fields but it feels right for the land. There isn't a big factory or a shiny storefront. It’s just us and the dirt. We spend our days checking on the crops and making sure no chemicals get near them. It can be frustrating when pests show up, but we figure it out together. The group is small but we all trust each other. Dealing with the paperwork is the slowest part of the day. We usually meet up at the office in Gopabandhu Nagar to talk through the weekly plans. It’s a messy business sometimes, especially during the monsoon when the roads get bad. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We just want to grow healthy food and get it to people who want it. Our families eat the same stuff we sell, so we take care with it. Life here is mostly about the seasons and the cycle of planting. We don't have much time for fancy talk. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-task. It’s just honest work that needs doing every single day to keep the farm running and the bills paid.
