Offrs Mess Army Ad College

It’s pretty quiet out here at Maltri Station most days, unless there is a lot of movement at the Army Ad College. We handle the food and the living space for the officers who stay here in Berhampur. The kitchen gets busy around five in the morning, and the smell of tea starts drifting through the halls before most people are even awake. Being in Odisha, we get some really hot days, so keeping the mess cool and comfortable is something we spend a lot of time on. It is not a fancy hotel or anything like that, just a place for the officers to eat their meals and relax a bit after they finish their training or work for the day. We have been here for a while, and the staff knows how things should run. Sometimes the supplies arrive late because of the station location, but we always manage to get lunch and dinner on the table. The dining hall has a lot of history on the walls, and you can tell people have been coming through here for years. We just try to keep the floors clean and the food hot. It’s a simple routine of cleaning, cooking, and making sure there is enough water and supplies for everyone staying at the mess. Most of the guys working here have lived in Berhampur their whole lives, so we know the area well and just get on with the daily chores.
