Khallikote (Autonomous) Colleges is a big name in Berhampur, and we are located right near the Berhampur HO. The campus is one of those places that has a lot of history behind it, and you can see it in the architecture of the old buildings. It’s a sprawling area with several different blocks for different departments. Walking through the gates, you immediately notice how large the place is compared to many other schools in the region. There are always students everywhere, some sitting under the trees and others rushing to get to a lecture on time. The walls are thick and the rooms have that old-fashioned feel with high windows and heavy doors. It’s an autonomous college, so we handle a lot of our own affairs right here on the grounds. The administrative offices are usually buzzing with activity, especially when it’s time for exams or new admissions. It’s a landmark in this part of Orissa, and 760001 is a busy postal code because of all the activity here. We have a lot of tradition, but we don't really talk about it in a fancy way; it’s just the way the college has always been. From the morning till the late evening, the campus is full of life, and then it gets quiet once the last few people head home through the main gate. The janitors then take over, cleaning up the leaves and preparing the halls for the next day of lectures.
