About Dawn Breeze International School – Education in Ganjam
People often ask where we are exactly in Berhampur, and we just tell them to head toward Kanishi in the Gosaninuagam area. We’ve been running Dawn Breeze for a while now. The school day usually starts early when the sun is still low. You can hear the kids long before you see them. Our hallways are narrow and the paint is peeling a bit near the bottom of the walls where the younger ones kick their bags. The teachers here aren't robots; they’re just local folks who know most of the parents by their first names. We spend a lot of time organizing desks and making sure the fans are working because it gets really hot in Orissa. There’s always a bit of dust because of the road nearby, but we try to keep things tidy. We don't have fancy elevators or glass walls. It’s mostly just brick, concrete, and a lot of noise during recess. Sometimes the bell rings late because the office staff got distracted talking about the weather or local news. That’s just how it goes here. We have a small yard where the kids play, and it gets pretty muddy when it rains. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open the gates every morning and do the work of keeping a school running in this corner of the town. It’s a job, but it’s also just our daily life.
