Bahuda Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based in Badabaranga, which is in the Ganjam district. Our office is just a regular house, Number 12 in Ward 21. It’s not the kind of place you’d notice if you were just driving through, but everyone around here knows where it is. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It started because we were all tired of dealing with middlemen who didn't understand the work we put in. Now, we handle things ourselves through this producer company. It’s a lot of responsibility and none of us were really trained for the business side of it, so we're learning as we go. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where to sell our produce for a price that actually covers our costs. The village life is quiet, but our meetings can get pretty loud when we're trying to make a decision. We don't have any fancy mission statements; we just want to make sure we can keep farming and support our families. Ganjam is a good place to be, even if the weather can be tough on the crops sometimes. We’ve got a solid group of members who show up and do their part. It’s just us trying to make a living off the land and being smart about how we sell what we grow. It is not always easy but having the company name makes us feel a bit more official when we deal with the banks.
