Unique Foods

Unique Foods is located at Plot No. 12 in the Changodar Industrial Estate. If you know the Changodar area in Ta Sanad, you know it’s a hub for all sorts of manufacturing. Our spot is dedicated to food stuff, which means we have to be a bit more careful about cleaning than the guys next door making metal parts. The mornings are usually spent checking the inventory and getting the batches started. It can get pretty warm inside when the machines are running, and there is always a specific smell in the air depending on what we are processing that day. Sometimes a shipment of raw ingredients arrives late and we have to scramble to keep the line moving, which makes for a long afternoon. We aren't a giant factory with thousands of workers, just a group of us here at Plot 12 trying to keep things running smooth. We spend a lot of time in hairnets and aprons, which isn't very glamorous, but it’s the work. The Changodar estate is always noisy with trucks coming and going, and we are right in the middle of it. We just focus on getting the food packed and ready to go out to the customers. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we take it one day at a time and try to stay out of any real trouble while we are here.
