Meladi Food Industries

Our place is at 50 A in Meladi Estate, right near the railway crossing in Gota. You can hear the trains passing by pretty often, which really tells you where you are. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always some dust and noise. We spend our days dealing with food products and packaging. The smell in the air changes depending on what we are processing that day. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. It’s more like a family setup than a big company. We wear our aprons and hairnets and just get to it. The floor is always being cleaned because that’s the main thing in food. We don't have a fancy lobby or a big sign. Most people just know where we are because we’ve been here so long. When the delivery trucks come in, things get a bit chaotic in the yard, but we sort it out. We don’t really do marketing or anything like that. The work mostly comes from people who know us or have been buying from us for a long time. We have our lunch together in the small break room. It’s a simple life here in Gota. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the quality is what it usually is. No frills, just a lot of hard work every day. We hope to stay here for many more years doing exactly this for the neighborhood.
