Photonics

Our place is B-5/1 in the GIDC Estate, over in Sector-25. It’s a typical industrial estate setting, so it’s all about business and manufacturing around here. The building is a functional structure made of concrete and steel. We don’t have any decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few diagrams of the optical components we work with. Working in Photonics means we deal with some pretty precise stuff, but the office itself feels very down-to-earth. There are always crates of glass or metal parts being moved around. The air has that distinct industrial smell, a mix of grease and dust. We’ve been here in Sector-25 for quite a few years now. The team is small, and we mostly keep to ourselves, focusing on the tasks at hand. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely in this part of the estate, but we have a few regular delivery drivers who stop by for a chat. We aren't interested in making the place look like a corporate headquarters. We just want a space where we can focus on our lenses and light systems without distractions. The desks are old, and the chairs squeak a bit, but they do the job. We usually finish up around six and head home before the estate gates get too congested. It’s a quiet, steady kind of existence and it suits the type of technical work we do every day.
