This is Gayatri Fragrances And Flavours. We are based out of Plot No. 203 in the Sahajanand Estate area of Sarkhej. It’s an industrial part of town, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around. We spend our days working with different scents and tastes. It’s a very specific kind of business. The air inside our unit always smells like a mix of many things, sometimes sweet and sometimes very strong. We started this because we had an interest in how things are made. It’s not a big office with glass walls, just a practical workspace where we get the job done. My team and I handle the mixing and the packaging ourselves. We have been at this location for a while. Sarkhej is a good spot for us because it’s easy for transport. We don’t really do much advertising. Most people who work with us found us through word of mouth or because they were looking for someone local in the estate. We deal with various raw materials every day. Sometimes the measurements have to be very exact, so we spend a lot of time hovering over scales. It can be tiring, and your nose gets used to the smells after an hour or so. We just focus on filling the orders we get. It’s a straightforward operation. We keep things simple and try to stay busy.
