The location for our Flemingo operations here is a bit unique, being situated at Suresh Kumar’s place, care of Jayaben Bhatiya. We are right in Pujara Faliya, which is part of the Ghani Sheri area in Mundra, Kachchh. This isn’t a big airport shop like the ones people usually see; it’s more of an administrative and coordination point for the duty-free business in this region. The streets in Mundra are often dusty because of all the port activity, and Ghani Sheri has that old-town feel to it. Our office is tucked away in a traditional building where the rooms stay relatively cool despite the Kutch heat. We handle a lot of paperwork related to the goods going in and out of the port. It’s a quiet place where we mostly talk to suppliers and logistical people on the phone. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit and wait for the generator to kick in. The local neighbors are all very friendly, and we often see people sitting on their porches in the evenings. It’s a far cry from a polished corporate office in a big city. We keep our files in old steel cabinets and use simple wooden desks. Everything here is about getting the job done without any extra fluff. It’s just how things work in this part of Gujarat, where the pace is steady and the work is practical.
