Nanak Glass Works

Nanak Glass Works is tucked away at number 850 in Nai Basti. We are specifically in Nanak Wali Gali number 25, which is part of Gopal Nagar near Shivaji Marg. It is a bit of a maze to find us if you aren't from around here, but the locals know the way. The lane is narrow, so moving big crates of glass can be a real struggle sometimes. We have to be smart about how we load the carts. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us and the glass. We’ve been in this spot for years, and the walls are covered in marks where we've leaned things over time. It is not a quiet place because we are always cutting or loading something. We work with our hands mostly. There is a lot of skill in knowing exactly where to tap the glass to get it to snap right. We don't use big machines for everything. Sometimes the old ways are better for the small jobs people bring in. The light in the gali isn't the best, so we have some bright bulbs over the worktables. We just keep our heads down and get the orders finished. It is a simple life here in Nai Basti, focused on doing the job right and making sure nobody gets cut. We enjoy the routine of it all, even on the long days.
