Avm Glass Industries Deco Division

Working out of B-9 in the Industrial Estate keeps us pretty busy most days. This part of the shop is the Deco Division, so we deal with the more detailed glass stuff that people ask for. It’s not just plain windows here; it’s more about the patterns and the finish that people want for their homes or office spaces. The industrial estate is a noisy place, and there is always something moving around outside, but we stay focused on our work benches. We’ve got the tools for etching and various types of decorative work. It’s dusty work, and your hands get pretty rough after a few years of doing this. We don’t really spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Most of the people who come to us are regulars or they heard about us from another shop nearby in the estate. We handle the orders as they come in, one by one. Some days the machines are running all day long, and other days we’re mostly doing hand finishing on smaller pieces. It takes a bit of patience to get the designs looking okay. We try to keep the place organized, but with glass scraps and tools everywhere, it usually looks like a busy workshop. The guys here have been working with glass for a long time, so they know how it behaves when you cut it. We just show up, do the jobs on the list, and close up when the light fades. It’s steady work and it keeps us out of trouble.
