Kanshiram I.College

Kanshiram I.College is located in Baharpur, near Khargapur and Holagarh. This is a bit of a rural area in Allahabad, so things move a little slower than they do in the main city. The college is an Inter College, which means we have the older students who are finishing up their school years. The building is surrounded by a bit of open space and some local houses. It’s not a modern glass building by any means. It’s made of brick and mortar, and it’s seen a lot of students pass through its doors over time. In the mornings, you can see students walking along the dirt paths or riding their bicycles to get here. It gets quite hot and dusty in the summer months, and during the monsoon, the roads around Baharpur can be a bit of a mess. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we just stick to the basics. The teachers here are mostly from the local area or nearby villages. We spend our days going through the textbooks and preparing for the board exams. It is a quiet existence for the most part. There are no big signs or bright lights to show where we are. People just know us because we’ve been here in the community for a while. It is just a place for the local kids to get their education without having to travel too far. We try our best to keep the classrooms tidy, but with the dust and the wind, it's a never-ending job. It's just how things are here.
