A G I College is located out in Chakshyam, which is part of the Bahariya block in Allahabad. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you're coming from the main city. The area is mostly rural, and our students come from all the surrounding villages like Kiraon. The college building is a simple concrete structure sitting in the middle of some fields. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that. We rely on big ceiling fans and open windows to stay cool during the Allahabad summers. Most of the students travel by foot or on bicycles, and you’ll see them lined up outside the gates every morning. The office is usually a bit of a mess with files and registers piled up on the desks. We spend a lot of time doing manual entry for everything. There’s a small area where students gather between classes, but mostly they’re in the rooms or heading back home to help with chores. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except when there’s a local festival or an exam going on. The staff here are mostly local people who understand the struggles of the students. We just try to keep the classes running and make sure the paperwork is in order. It’s basic, honest work in a part of the country that doesn't get much attention. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done.
