About Prakash Pan Bhandar – Food & Beverages in Faridabad
If you walk through the Faridabad City Main Market in Sector-22, you will find us right there in the middle of all that noise. N.I.T is always busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping. My hands are usually stained a bit red from the ingredients I use to prepare the pan. I sit on a small raised platform and keep everything within arm's reach. There are rows of small containers with lime, betel nut, and different spices. The smell of the fresh leaves is the first thing you notice when you stand near the stall. People come to us after they have had their dinner at the nearby dhabas. They just want something to chew on while they walk through the market. We have a small mirror on the side and a few pictures on the wall with some old marigold flowers. It is a tight space to work in, but I have got my routine down after all these years. I can fold a pan in a few seconds without even looking at my hands. The market lights are bright and there is always music playing from the neighboring shops. It gets quite loud with the motorcycles passing by so close. I have seen this market change a lot, but people still want their pan the same way they always did. I just keep my head down and work through the evening rush.
