Ashoka Plastic Industry

Our place is Ashoka Plastic Industry, right on 100 Foot Road in Chawla Colony, Ballabgarh. If you walk down this way, you can’t miss the sign. We have been making plastic items here for a long time. The factory is usually humming with the sound of the molding machines. It’s a steady sound that you get used to after a while. We have a lot of raw material bags piled up in the corner. The air smells a bit like warm plastic, which some people don’t like, but I don't mind it anymore. We work in shifts to keep up with what we need to get done. My family started this, and now I'm the one spending most of the time here. It’s a lot of monitoring and making sure the pieces look right and don't have holes. Sometimes a machine jams and we have to take it apart, which takes hours. The 100 Foot Road gets very busy during the day. We have trucks coming in and out all the time. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes in the loading area. We have some regulars who buy from us in bulk. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here. The office is just a tiny room with a few chairs and a lot of ledgers. It gets the job done. We just keep working and trying to stay ahead of the orders. The guys usually bring their lunch and sit on the stacks of crates during the break. It’s a noisy, busy life but it is ours.
