Thenmalar Higher Secondary School

Thenmalar Higher Secondary School. Our school is right on Pollachi Road in Dasarapatti, which is near Dharapuram. It is a fairly open area, so the wind blows through the school quite a bit. We have students coming in from all the surrounding villages and the main town. Being a higher secondary school, we have a mix of younger kids and teenagers who are almost ready to head off to college. The daily routine is pretty set in stone. The bell rings, everyone goes to their rooms, and the teaching starts. We have simple desks and benches that have seen many years of use. You can see carvings on some of them from students who were here ten years ago. The campus is spread out enough that the noise from the primary section doesn't bother the older ones too much. We don't have any flashy signs or expensive equipment, just the basics like blackboards and charts. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building around two o'clock, making everyone feel a bit sleepy. We have a small canteen where the kids can get a snack, but most bring their own food from home. The teachers here mostly live in Dharapuram or the nearby 638657 area. It is a straightforward place where the main goal is just getting through the lessons and making sure the students know their subjects. It is a big part of the local life here on Pollachi Road.
