Sakthi Saranyaa Cotton Mill is located at 132 Cauvery Road, over in V.Chatram. It’s an old-school kind of place. We spend our days surrounded by cotton and yarn. There is always a layer of lint on everything, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the nature of working in a cotton mill. We’ve been at this location for quite some time now. The neighborhood knows us by the sound of the equipment. It’s a steady rhythm that you get used to after a while. We aren't a big corporation with layers of management. It’s just a few of us making sure the machines are running and the output is consistent. Cauvery Road is usually busy, so there’s always something going on outside. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the work at hand. It’s a lot of manual labor, and at the end of the day, you definitely feel it in your back. But there is a certain satisfaction in seeing the bales ready to go. We don't have a website with fancy photos or anything. Most people just know where we are if they need us. We try to keep things simple and honest. If the cotton is good, the rest usually takes care of itself. That’s pretty much the whole story of how we run things here in V.Chatram, and it works for us.
