Karunambika Rice Mill

Karunambika Rice Mill is located at 44 Pilliyar Koil Street in Karatour. It is a small street, so it gets quite crowded when the tractors and trucks come to deliver the paddy. We have been part of this community for a long time now. The mill itself is an old building where we process rice for the local farmers and vendors. It is a noisy environment with the sound of the machines constantly humming in the background. We don't have a fancy office; it is just a small room at the front with an old desk and a couple of chairs where we talk to people. The smell of rice is everywhere, and the dust gets into everything, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We work according to the seasons, so some months are incredibly busy and others are a bit quieter. Our workers are mostly neighbors who have been with us for years. We handle all the bagging and weighing ourselves to make sure everything is done right. We don't do any big marketing or have a website. People just know where we are on Pilliyar Koil Street and they come to us when they have grain to process. It is a simple, traditional business that keeps us connected to the land and the people around us.
