Our site is at 168 Kaspapettai Road in Chellappampalayam. It is a bit of a drive out from the main town, but that is where you have to be for this kind of work. We deal with blue metals, which means there is a lot of crushing and sorting going on. You can hear the machines from a good distance away. The yard is filled with different piles of stone based on their size. It is a very practical place. We have a small office near the entrance where we weigh the trucks. My son handles a lot of the paperwork now, while I spend most of my time out by the conveyors. It is a dusty environment, and we all wear boots that stay covered in grit. Chellappampalayam is a quiet place otherwise, mostly just fields and long stretches of road. We have been on Kaspapettai Road for a long time now. We don't have any big signs or fancy gates. People know us by word of mouth and by seeing the trucks on the road. The work is tough on the equipment, so we are always doing some kind of maintenance on the weekends. It is just the nature of the business. We provide the materials for local building and road work, and we try to keep things moving as smoothly as possible. It is a basic, hardworking life out here, and we wouldn’t really know what else to do with ourselves if we weren't here doing this.
