You’ll find Krishna Iron & Steel Company at number 48 in Kunnathur. We are located right on Sathy Main Road, directly opposite the City Union Bank. Being across from the bank is handy because people always use it as a reference point when they’re looking for us. The road outside is always moving with cars and buses heading out of town. It gets quite loud with all the heavy vehicles passing by. We deal with a lot of iron and steel, so the place has that metallic smell to it all the time. Our yard is usually full of stock, and we spend a lot of our day moving things around to make room for new deliveries. It’s physical work, and we get pretty tired by the time we close up. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon. We have a small desk where we do the billing, but most of the action happens outside where the material is kept. Kunnathur has changed quite a bit since we first set up shop here, but we’ve stayed in the same spot. We know the bank staff across the way and the other shop owners nearby. It’s a decent community. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decorations. We just keep the inventory organized enough to find what's needed. It’s just how we run things every day on Sathy Main Road. We stay open until the sun goes down usually.
