Erode Steels

Erode Steels is located right on 4th Street, just off Avinashi Road. We have been at No 44 for a long time. It is a dusty place because of all the metal moving around. We mostly handle steel rods and bits used for building. If you walk down Stanes Road, you will find us easily. The trucks come in early to drop off the heavy loads. It can be loud when the crane is working. We have a small crew here. Everyone knows what they are supposed to do. Some of us have been working together for ten years. We don't use a lot of computers, mostly just ledgers and chalk. It feels more real that way. Sometimes customers come in looking for something specific for a small shed or a gate. We try to find the right size for them. If we don't have it, we say so. No point in wasting time. The weather gets hot in the summer, and the steel gets even hotter. We drink a lot of tea and keep at it. Avinashi Road is always packed with cars, so getting the deliveries out can be a struggle in the evening. We just keep our heads down and work. It's a basic business. We sell steel, we load the trucks, and we close up when it's dark. Nothing more to it than that. Most days the tea is the best part of the afternoon.
