Gopika Regency Hotel

You will find Gopika Regency Hotel right near the Varapuzha Bridge. Being so close to the bridge means we get a lot of noise from the vehicles crossing over throughout the day and night. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We have some rooms for travelers and a dining area that stays pretty busy. The building is older, and the paint is peeling a little in the hallways, but it’s sturdy. The staff here doesn’t wear uniforms; we just wear what’s comfortable for the heat. We spend our mornings checking people out and getting the linens washed. The water pressure can be a bit moody sometimes, which is something we are always trying to fix. In the evenings, people come in to eat and talk about their day. The menu doesn't change much, mostly just the usual dishes that people around here like to eat. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old calendars. It’s a bit of a climb if you have a lot of bags, as we don't have a big elevator. Most of the people who come here are looking for a simple place to rest their heads without any fuss. We try to keep the fans running to move the humid air around. When the bridge gets quiet in the middle of the night, you can finally hear the trees rustling outside. The road noise finally dies down and the moon looks nice over the water.
